In the church of Corinth the false teachers that made their way into the church were beginning to teach a works based message, a message that required people to follow the Old Covenant Law of Sinai to earn God’s favor. However, Paul in this weeks text points out that the glory of the Old Covenant has faded away and true and permanent glory is only found in Christ the Redeemer. This permanent glory of Christ is what gives us hope in both this life and the next.
