Red Village Church

Meet the Ryans

Here is a note from Brandon Ryan who will be joining the RVC staff this August!

Hello Red Village Church! We are the Ryans and we are so excited to join the Red Village Family and the work you all are doing to spread the Gospel of Jesus to Madison and the ends of the earth! My name is Brandon and my wife, Valerie, and I have been married for seven years. We have two children, Adelyn (4) and Jack (2), with a third due in mid-September! God has called me to be a local church pastor in the Madison area and I am so excited that He has led us to Red Village to begin living out that calling. Though we are moving from Colorado, Valerie and I were both born and raised in Wisconsin. I hail from Mequon, north of Milwaukee, and Valerie is from Wisconsin Rapids. Also, we both received our Bachelor’s degrees from UW-Madison and we lived in Madison for a total of eight years before moving to Denver.

My journey to the pastorate has been an interesting one. Having been raised in a Catholic home, God saved me at the end of my junior year in 2006 when I was in the pit of debauchery. My final year I joined the Navigators where I met Valerie. I graduated in 2007 with my B.S. in Biochemistry, still with the dream of becoming a doctor, but God had different plans. The summer after graduating, I went to Japan as a missionary. It was there that God called me to full-time vocational ministry. Valerie and I began dating after I returned from Japan and we were married June 2008.

Valerie and I lived in Madison, where we had our daughter Adelyn, until August 2011 when we left to move to Colorado so that I could pursue my Master of Divinity at Denver Seminary, having received the particular call to join the pastorate. During our time in Colorado, we had our son, Jack, and got involved with an excellent SBC church with a very similar theology and vision as Red Village. After finding out about Red Village, I met with Aaron about a year before my graduation and really connected with Aaron and the vision of Red Village. He and I began talking about some staffing needs back in March and Val and I immediately started praying about this possibility. I graduated and received my degree in May 2015 and Valerie is finishing up her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, also from Denver Seminary, at a distance! God has now brought together various circumstances in order to confirm this call and we are really excited!

I will be joining the staff of Red Village as a Pastoral Resident, filling the roles similar to that of a Worship Pastor and an Executive Pastor, providing organizational leadership, as well as the general role of another shepherd, with the hopes of eventually pursuing eldership. I know I can speak for my entire family when I say that we look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing in your fellowship!
